    Position Overview:

    Pretium Packaging is seeking an individual to add to its centralized accounts payable function. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, managing vendor accounts, and maintaining financial records. This is a vital role in our organization, as you will play a key part in maintaining the financial health of our company.

    Responsibilities:

    • Review, challenge, and enter vendor invoices for payment.
    • Work with Pretium's Information Technology department, Pretium's banking partners and other members of the Accounting department in streamlining accounts payable processes and techniques.
    • Assist with periodic electronic reimbursement of employee expense reports (Concur).
    • Assist with month end closing; knowledge of month end accrual process.
    • Provide supporting documentation for annual financial statement audits and bank borrowing base submissions.
    • Correspond with vendors as needed and respond to inquiries on a timely basis.
    • Investigate outstanding check matters and issue stop-payments as needed.
    • Assist with year-end vendor 1099 reporting and distribution.
    • Reconcile accounts payable transactions.
    • Maintain organized electronic vendor files and perform other general office duties as needed.

    Education, Experience, & Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred.
    • Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or similar role.
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
    • Self-starter.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Proficient with data entry and management.
    • Demonstrated vendor relationship building skills.
    • Ability to meet deadlines.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
    • IQMS experience a plus.
