Job Summary
The County of San Diego's Assessor Recorder County Clerk Department has an opening for Audit-Appraiser IV.
This is a promotional opportunity open only to current County of San Diego employees. Temporary employees, with the exception of Certified Temporary employees, are not eligible for promotional recruitments. Audit-Appraiser IVs are lead workers and perform complex audits of major scientific, computerized corporations, or nation-wide conglomerates to determine proper value of assessable personal property. Incumbents are also responsible for independently handling appeals arising from such audits.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1) A bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency in accounting, business administration (with a major in accounting or finance), economics or a closely related field, which included college course work in elementary accounting, intermediate accounting, advanced accounting, cost accounting, and auditing; AND,
2) One (1) year of professional accounting experience for assessment purposes at a level of Audit-Appraiser III in the County of San Diego Assessor's Office.
Note: Certification as a Public Accountant (CPA) by the California State Board of Accountancy is highly desirable and may be accepted as meeting the education requirement.
EVALUATION
Qualified candidates will be placed on a six (6) month employment list based on scores received during the evaluation contained on their employment and supplemental applications. Please ensure all information is complete and accurate as the responses you provide on the supplemental application questionnaire will be reviewed using an automated evaluation system. If you are successful in the initial screening process your application will be reviewed individually to confirm that the information you provided is accurate and qualifying.
