    Position Summary:

    The Assistant Retail Manager is responsible for the success and viability of the golf merchandise concession.

    This position work with the Resort Retail Manager and other Assistant Retail managers to assist with the retail plans, purchases, and coordinates inventory of golf products offered for sales.

    The individual will restock the ship floor and backstock areas while interacting with guests and answering questions they have while assisting in their shopping experience.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:


    • Maintains an attractive and orderly appearance in and around the golf ship.
    • Greets guests and assists with their whole shopping experience.
    • Assists with golf merchandising concession to achieve its established mission within the golf operation.
    • Maintains levels of product appropriate for the season and level of traffic throughout the day through the golf shop.
    • On occasion will work morning and closing shifts in the golf shop.
    • Make suggestions for supplies, fixtures, staff uniforms, and fitting systems to provide a conducive sales environment and promote sales.
    • Executes general and seasonal merchandise plans, visual presentation guidelines and pricing strategies.
    • Maintains product documentation from purchase to sale, including purchase orders, receiving records, invoice validation/payment, inventory records and special-order records to document merchandise history.
    • Assist with accurate and timely physical inventory counts on a monthly/annual basis.
    • Monitors safeguarding of inventory and assets to reduce loss from theft, pilferage, defective/damaged goods, returns, and markdowns.
    • Establishes pricing structures for all inventory and special-order items in consideration of competitive prices and generally accepted profit margins. Keeps abreast of industry and competition pricing structures to set prices for maximizing sales potential.
    • Markets merchandise by studying advertising, sales promotion, and display plans; analyzing operation and financial statements for profitability ratios.
    • Works with other department leaders on approved staff uniforms; including pricing, buying, and distribution to employees.
    • Establishes and/or ensures employee purchase policies are adhered to including accurate accounting of employee purchases.
    Qualifications:


    • High School Diploma required. Enrolled in 2- or 4-year degree program in Retail Merchandising, Marketing, or related field preferred.
    • One year of retail experience preferred.
    • Demonstrated quality written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required including nights/weekends.
    • Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations.
    Working Conditions:

    Typical office setting with overheard lighting and adjustable ventilation.

    This individual may be exposed from time to time to inclement weather; potentially dangerous pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers; equipment movement hazards; misdirected golf balls.

    Injury may result as a result of exposure to the above if safety policies and practices are not properly followed at all times.

    Physical Requirements:


    Must have the ability to:

    • Read and write (English)
    • Communicate verbally with staff members with or without the use of two-way radios.
    • Give and/or follow verbal and written instructions
    • Visually inspect all work areas
    • Operate vehicles and equipment for several hours at a time
    • Perform mathematical calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages
    • Retrieve, read and interpret information from technical sources
    • Stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, bend and kneel for up to 5 hours at a time
    • Lift up to 30 lbs. occasionally, 10 lbs. frequently, and 5 lbs. constantly
