    Headstart Hatching is seeking a Truck and Trailer Maintenance Technician/CDL Driver to join our team We are looking for a versatile individual who can fulfill the dual role of maintaining our fleet of trucks and trailers while also operating them as needed.

    The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent driving record, and a commitment to safety.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trucks and trailers to ensure they are in optimal working condition.
    Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify any mechanical issues or safety concerns.
    Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems and perform necessary repairs in a timely manner.
    Keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed, including parts used and labor hours.
    Assist in maintaining a clean and organized maintenance shop.
    Safely operate trucks and trailers to transport goods to designated locations as needed.
    Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while driving and working in the maintenance shop.
    Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and other team members to coordinate maintenance schedules and transportation routes.
    Pick-up, unload and safely transport day old poults & eggsResponsible for loading truckWithin this process will be the expectation of consistent cleanliness, animal welfare standards and bio-security policies being upheld CDL Driver carries out all directives in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws All Company information will be handled with complete confidentialityFollow the directions of the Hatchery ManagerFully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned vehicleObtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveriesStay on predetermined route and ensure timely transport and deliveryConfirm that the contents of each shipment load matches the manifest documentNotify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encounteredMaintain detailed driving and delivery logsObey all applicable traffic laws and drive in according to the weather/road conditionsComply with DOT regulationsMake safety a priority at all timesThe ideal candidate will have the following education, experience, and skills:High school diploma or GED equivalent preferredValid commercial driver's license (CDL) required with proper endorsements2+ years proven experience in commercial truck driving preferredAbility to operate a manual transmission (preferred)

    Knowledge of preventative maintenance and repairs of truck and trailersKnowledge of DOT regulationsProficient using GPS and other routing systems; Map reading and route planning experienceSkilled at driving, backing and parking large, heavy vehiclesCommunication skills to effectively work with a variety of people, supervisors, employees and departmentsTime management and organizational skillsProblem solving skillsGeneral skills using MS products (i.e.

    , Word, Excel, and Outlook) and a basic understanding of computer hardware Ability to maintain a high level of confidentialityAbility to diagnose and repair mechanical problems efficientlyOther:

    Clean driving record with no moving violationsMust pass background check, MVR check, pre-employment drug test and PSP background checkExperience with live animals, egg handling, or feed transport preferred
