    Overview of Responsibilities and Prerequisites

    • Contributes to the management of the Rehabilitation Therapy Department (PT, OT, and ST) to attain department objectives.
    • Oversees staff, assists with scheduling, technical procedures, quality assurance, personnel development/education, and compliance with regulatory agencies.
    • Handles all departmental functions in alignment with the hospital mission, vision, and facility targets.
    • Identifies cost-effective systems essential to support departmental operations while considering business trends, available resources, and customer changes.
    • Establishes effective relationships with all stakeholders including patients, physicians, employees, volunteers, and suppliers.
    • Identifies and addresses issues through ongoing customer satisfaction assessment and employee engagement.
    • Manages the recruitment, termination, scheduling, counseling, and evaluation of therapy staff.
    • May be accountable for assessing, treating, and/or caring for patients of various age groups.
    • Collaborates with senior management to achieve facility objectives and takes charge in overseeing the department in the absence of AVPs.
    • Fosters a positive work atmosphere and inspires staff to deliver their best performance. Other assigned duties may apply.

    Essential Qualifications

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
    • Bachelor's degree mandatory.
    • Preferably an advanced degree in a related discipline (PT, OT, ST) from an accredited institution or MBA/MHA.
    • Minimum of five years in a management role within the therapy field, involving personnel management, payroll, budgeting, capital management, business planning, marketing, physician relations, and supervisory responsibilities.
    LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS MANDATORY:
    • Active Texas PT, OT, or SLP license.
    • Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
