- Design authority functions
- Coordination and integration of engineering/design across the Jacobs team including multiple subcontractors
- Reporting and compliance monitoring
- Documentation and evaluation of site data
- Assisting the site management team with site operations and management of junior staff
- Primary interface with the client Technical Team
- Integration of client expectations/requirements through technical collaboration meetings and impromptu meetings as needed
- Must have a Bachelors or higher in either Engineering, Geology or Environmental Science from an ABET-accredited college or university
- Must have at least 10 years or more of experience
- Must have a DoD Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one
- Must have environmental cleanup experience
- Must have experience working on a construction site
- Must have strong client facing communication skills
- Must have leadership experience
- Must be a U.S
- USACE Projects
- PADEP Experience
- Radiological Remediation
- CERCLA or hazardous waste cleanup
- Understanding of Nuclear Safety principles and controls is preferred
- Understanding of requirements for handling and control of Special Nuclear Materials is preferred
- Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting
- Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs
- Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation
- Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same
- Occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity Attendance: Specific DoD Security training using the STEPP online systems is mandatory before performing project duties.
- Timely response to resolve issues is expected.
- Overtime work must be pre-approved and authorized.
- Travel required - As needed
- If and when needed and as directed by the Jacobs SLDA Team Project Manager, must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Level Clearance (similar to obtaining a DOE L Clearance) for work on the Shallow Land Disposal Areas (SLDA) Project Team under the day-to-day direction of the Jacobs Team nuclear safety program manager

Jacobs Nuclear Project and Consulting is a Tier 1 service provider to the U.S
Department of Energy, we deliver safe and innovative solutions at complex nuclear cleanup and production sites
Our services include program management, decommissioning, environmental remediation, waste and nuclear material management, nuclear operations, consulting, and engineering and construction
Jacobs is partnering with the U.S
Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to remediate the radiological contaminants at The Shallow Land Disposal Area (SLDA) site in Vandergrift, PA, encompassing 44 acres and 10 trenches of contaminated waste and soil
Army Corps awarded the $350 million remediation services contract to Jacobs for the cleanup of radioactive waste at the Shallow Land Disposal Area
Remediation design plans and procedures are currently being developed in anticipation of starting the site infrastructure improvements
