    Description

For more than a decade, RPCK, an international boutique law firm with offices in NYC, Denver and Vienna, has been at the center of some of the world's most innovative and sophisticated impact investing and blended finance transactions. We work with leading social impact investors and entrepreneurs, large family offices, investment funds, public charities, and private foundations to co-create and facilitate the launch of scalable and investible solutions to effect meaningful social and environmental change.

As an attorney at RPCK, you will work across practice areas, acting as counselor, strategist and advocate on complex, global transactions, devising bespoke deal structures that deliver strong investment and impact outcomes. You will work alongside some of the industry's top impact investing, fund formation and blended finance attorneys that have honed their craft at some of the world's leading law firms, providing mentorship and support to encourage professional growth. This role is a hybrid-remote role and will require 1-2 days in the midtown NYC office allowing collaboration with the firm's most senior attorneys.

    Qualified candidates will have:

    • At least 5 years of debt finance experience, ideally in big law, including a variety of lender, borrower, and sponsor side representation.
    • Ability to run standard secured loan transactions from diligence through closing independently, with strategic support from the team.
    • Familiarity with intercreditor negotiations, distressed debt environments, restructuring, amendments, and forbearance agreements.
    • Experience coordinating support from tax, corporate finance, funds formation, and other practice groups.
    • Curiosity and creative approaches to sophisticated, impactful legal work on cutting-edge transactions.
    • Ability to develop and maintain client relationships, exercise discerning judgment, and provide nuanced written and spoken communication.
    • Motivation for personal and professional development. Impact investing experience is not required, but a sincere desire to help effect meaningful social and environmental change through sophisticated work as a legal advisor and practitioner is expected.
    • J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one US state bar (preferably New York).

    Exceptional candidates will have:

    • Experience working on cross-border transactions, including with Development Finance Institutions.
    • Interdisciplinary practice including collaboration with funds and corporate finance practices, debt-in debt-out funds, note purchase agreements, subscriptions facilities, or other hybrid practices or investment instruments.
    • Demonstrated commitment to the impact community of lawyers and impact investing.
    • Desire to grow your own business, the firm's impact debt practice, and to support the ongoing development of the firm.

We care deeply not just about our clients and delivering game-changing outcomes, but also our people. Once on board, you can expect:

    • A truly collaborative culture and the backing of a close-knit and supportive team. We do not work in silos and value unique perspectives and experience.
    • A flexible work environment that supports remote work.
    • We strive to create a culture that supports happy and healthy employees, spending time outside of the office resting, recharging and having fun.
    • Billing target of 1,400 hours/year
    • Personalized and individual support, mentoring and training from senior leadership.
    • Outstanding benefits from Day 1 that include no healthcare premium for employees, matching 401K, coverage for same sex partners as well as domestic partners, adoption assistance, commuter benefits, Employee Assistance Program, and Learning and Development.
