    Description

    PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB
    Under general supervision of the Assistant Marketing Officer, this position assists in coordination of marketing activities in advertising, promotion, sales, research, community involvement and new product introductions. This position also works in a support role for the department for social media, event coordination, and local marketing requests.

    • Ensures the confidentiality of customer non-public personal information and secures information systems to comply with bank regulations.
    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PERFORMANCE AREA
    • Supports the marketing team through organization and administrative support of various projects;
    • Assists with community events, branch openings, and other events;
    • Supports content strategy with the creation and distribution of social media content;
    • Reviews and monitors online content made by others related to the bank, including social media and online reviews, posts, and comments. Responds as needed;
    • Reviews and monitors comments on Southern Banks ads/organic posts. Responds as needed;
    • Research social media trends and inform management of changes that are relevant to the company's marketing activities;
    • Provide graphic design support as requested for corporate and branch marketing projects;
    • Maintains schedules and tracking for all media campaigns and promotionalmaterials for departmental reports; and,
    • Assists with customer communications and other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Ability to self-direct & self-motivate;
    • Superior attention-to-detail, organizational, prioritization, multi-tasking, customer service and problem-solving skills; and,
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure, in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and meet deadlines.
    EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
    • Associate degree in marketing, business, or consumer-related studies or Bachelor's degree preferred;
    • Minimum of one year in banking, one year in direct sales, one year in publishing or two years of marketing experience;
    • Experience with social and digital advertising and Adobe Design Suite, or similar graphic design software preferred; and,
    • Must be familiar with financial institution products and services.
