    LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a growing organization, and they are seeking a Chemical Process Engineer to join their team in Joliet, IL. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chemical Process Engineer to join our team. The Chemical Process Engineer will play a critical role in leading the mechanical integrity and process safety programs in the chemical plant, ensuring adherence to Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements, corporate process safety policies, work processes, and standards. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working for a chemical manufacturer and possess expertise in process safety management.     Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead the mechanical integrity and process safety programs in the chemical plant, ensuring compliance with PSM requirements and corporate process safety policies.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert and champion to drive strong mechanical integrity performance and process safety culture within the plant.
    • Oversee and manage all aspects of mechanical integrity, including equipment inspection, testing, and maintenance activities.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve mechanical integrity performance and reduce process safety risks.
    • Conduct risk assessments and process hazard analyses to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate risk mitigation measures.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely resolution of mechanical integrity issues and implementation of corrective actions.
    • Provide technical support and guidance to plant personnel on process safety matters, including training and awareness initiatives.
    • Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to mechanical integrity and process safety, analyzing trends and driving continuous improvement efforts.
    • Participate in regulatory audits and inspections, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
    • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure alignment on process safety initiatives and objectives.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
    • Prior experience working for a chemical manufacturer, with a strong understanding of chemical processes and equipment.
    • Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) and leading mechanical integrity programs in a chemical plant.
    • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to process safety, including OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA Risk Management Program (RMP).
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct risk assessments and root cause analyses.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
    • Strong leadership abilities with a collaborative and inclusive approach to driving process safety culture and performance improvement.
    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
