Job Description
GDIT is seeking a Lead System Administrator and Team Lead joining our team to support the United States Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Air and Radiation's Office of Air Quality Planning and Standards (OAQPS) highly visible mission-critical systems supporting the Agency's mission.
As a Senior System Administrator and Team Lead you will be trusted to lead a team of System Administrators and System Engineers in the management, monitoring and optimization of OAQPS hardware, software, network and storage solutions across Windows and LINUX server environments, Active Directory, COTS products and SAN solutions from IBM Tivoli, VEEAM, and HPE 3PAR StoreServ, and security products including HBSS/HIPS.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with OAQPS leadership to optimize system confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
Establish state-of-the-art techniques for designing, developing, documenting, modifying, and troubleshooting highly complex hardware and operating software systems and architectures.
Support the design, documentation, configuration, implementation, maintenance, and security posture of all hardware, operating systems, storage networks, virtual environments, and application software in accordance with applicable EPA instructions and policies.
Support the optimization and rationalization of physical and virtual environments (VMWare, Cloud) including plans for system migration/virtualization where appropriate.
Perform capacity management through modeling and simulation techniques using system benchmarks, performance measurements and evaluation data, and ensure that optimal resource (CPU, memory, storage) utilization.

Desired Skills and Abilities:
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Some prior experience leading teams preferred.
Demonstrated experience working with Agile Scrum based development team.
