    The Stanford University Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation (DAPER) is currently accepting applications for a Director of Creative Video.

    Reporting to the Associate Athletics Director, Marketing, this position will help lead and manage the Creative Video staff, providing strategic vision and oversight of creative video content produced for all social media platforms, brand marketing and product advertising commercials, and other creative assets.

    In collaboration with Marketing, Digital Strategy, Graphic Design and Communications teams, this role will support all Stanford Athletics efforts to attract, excite, and communicate with fans, followers and prospective student-athletes; create content that follows and amplifies our 36 Division I varsity programs; build brand affinity for Stanford Athletics; Successful execution of this role will enhance and protect the Stanford Athletics brand, celebrating our rich history while enticing fans, the local community, and elite prospective student-athletes to join us on The Farm.

    This is a full-time, exempt position.

    Provide strategic leadership and management of the Creative Video team, including scheduling, project management, timely feedback, product education, and talent development.

    Capture and produce video content for a select number of varsity athletics programs, including event highlights, student-athlete features, revenue generation-supporting content, and occasional recruiting support.

    Oversee creative content for videos produced for all social media platforms, promotional videos, highlight videos and recruiting videos.

    Consistently communicate with coaches and other varsity program staff, understanding individual program needs and circumstances while setting video support expectations in adherence to the overall content strategy.

    Contribute to the creation of a coordinated annual, monthly, and weekly content calendars to promote Stanford Athletics and its 36 varsity sports on all social media platforms to enhance the Cardinal brand for current and prospective fans, donors and student-athletes.

    Support the implementation of, and evergreen commitment to, the Stanford Athletics brand campaign and guidelines, ensuring all video elements have a consistent look and feel, from visual imagery to content tone and cadence.

    Support the recruitment, training and oversight of Creative Video interns.
    Assist with the organization of the Creative Video department space, maintaining equipment and enforcing equipment usage guidelines.

    Maintain a thorough working knowledge of all requisite software applications relative to video production and motion graphics and have the ability to put this knowledge into practice in the creation of Athletics video content.

    Support in the creation of video content for social, web, in-venue and advertising mediums for a small individual portfolio of Athletics programs.

    Work closely with External Relations' digital strategy, marketing, graphic design and communications teams (and other departments intermittently) on both sport and departmental initiatives and campaigns, from initial concept to completion.

    Bachelor's degree in related field.
    ~ Minimum 2-3 years of experience managing creative video producers or other creative content teams, with demonstrated experience in providing strategic leadership, setting expectations, and contributing to the overall content stream.
    ~4-5 years of relevant video content creation experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
    ~ proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects (or related) required.
    ~ Ability to produce a high volume of engaging video content, while maintaining a strong quality of work.
    ~ Comfortability with tight deadlines and the ability to answer to multiple constituents and prioritize projects, including working on multiple projects simultaneously.
    ~ Self-motivated individual who takes initiative on new projects, and proactively identifies new opportunities.
    ~ Ability to take and incorporate feedback to improve video content and adapt to shifting priorities.
    ~ Team player who can effectively work with others and is willing to "roll up their sleeves" to help out when needed.
    ~ Must be flexible to travel with assigned teams as required and work non-traditional hours.
    ~ This position is responsible for ensuring that your involvement with DAPER activities maintains the integrity of the University's reputation and does not negatively impact the relationship between the University and its faculty, staff, students, and alumni.
