    Villa Academy is an inclusive independent school community dedicated to developing the whole child in the Cabrinian tradition of "education of the heart."     Villa Academy seeks a full-time Director of Athletics to join its administrative team beginning August 1, 2024. The Director is responsible for leading, innovating, and inspiring a positive school-wide culture around health and athletics, in addition to overseeing the administration, communication, and supervision of Villa's participation in the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) athletic league. The Director will partner and collaborate with Villa's Physical Education faculty, providing part-time Physical Education instruction as assigned. The Director of Athletics will be a positive and visible presence in the Villa community, actively engaging in the life of the school and serving as a campus ambassador for visiting teams and their families. This is a 12-month, non-exempt position that follows the academic calendar, reporting to the Director of Student Experience. Weekend hours will often be required.

    The ideal candidate will inspire students, families, and the broader Villa community to learn and grow through participation in healthy athletic activity. The candidate will enjoy working with a team of colleagues, students, families, and volunteers, leading with great initiative, cultural humility, and keen problem-solving and communication skills.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Work with students aged 3 to 14, supporting and encouraging them to participate in athletics while honoring skill development and achievement.
    • Coordinate seasonal sports, including communication with the Archdiocese of Seattle CYO Administrator, students' families/caregivers, and volunteer coaches.
    • Partnering with the Extended Day Coordinator to support management and execution of Villa Ventures, Villa Academy's robust summer camps program.
    • Partner and collaborate with Villa's Physical Education faculty in providing part-time Physical Education instruction as assigned.
    • Contribute to Physical Education curriculum development and review in partnership with Physical Education faculty and the Director of Teaching and Learning for Inquiry and Equity.
    • Create and manage online athletics registrations.
    • Create, manage, and communicate team rosters, practice schedules, and contests.
    • Alongside the Director of Student Experience, develop Villa Academy Athletics policies and procedures for three separate stakeholders: staff, families, and vendors.
    • Partner with Villa's Digital Marketing Associate in communications regarding athletics programs, contest results, etc.
    • Represent the school in CYO league meetings and contribute to league activities.
    • Serve as Villa's liaison with athletic facilities vendors/rentals and the Business Office.
    • Provide general assistance for athletics events on campus, including evening hours and weekends.
    • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteer coaches.
    • Purchase and maintain sports uniforms and equipment.
    • Commit to the mission, vision and values of Villa Academy.
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • A Bachelor's degree in Sports Administration, Education, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
    • 3+ years of youth athletics administration experience.
    • Experience in independent schools preferred.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills, as well as the flexibility and humor needed to run an athletic program with a variety of constituents and outside partners.
    • A commitment to ongoing professional growth and curiosity, cultural humility, and antiracism, and an understanding of its critical role in academic excellence and student growth.
    • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, technology, and organizational skills.
    • Positive energy and enthusiasm for working in a Preschool through Eighth Grade, faith-based independent school.
    • A commitment to ongoing professional growth, curiosity, cultural humility, and antiracism, as well as an understanding of its critical role in academic excellence and student growth.
    SALARY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
    Anticipated salary ranges between $80, ,000/year, Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
