    The Associate Dean of the College of Graduate Studies position is essential in supporting the Dean with overseeing and enhancing graduate programs.

    This role demands a dynamic leader who will contribute to implementing the Tarleton Forward 2030 initiative, focusing on expanding, marketing, recruiting, and retaining graduate students.


    Responsibilities:

    • Strategic Planning:

    Advance the development and execution of strategies to build doctoral program enrollment, aligning with the Tarleton Forward 2030 initiative, focusing on program expansion and enhancement at the doctoral level.


    • Marketing and Recruitment:
    Collaborate in the formulation and execution of marketing and recruitment strategies, specifically targeting the growth of doctoral programs. Contribute to increasing the visibility and appeal of these programs to prospective students.

    • Faculty Mentorship:
    Support initiatives to strengthen mentor-mentee relationships, particularly in doctoral programs. Enhance the academic and professional development experience for graduate students, with an emphasis on doctoral student engagement.

    • Graduate Student Success:

    Partner with student and academic affairs units to devise and implement strategies for the success of graduate students, focusing on the unique needs of doctoral candidates.


    • Assisting the Dean:
    Provide comprehensive assistance in managing and representing the College's graduate education efforts. Represent the Dean in committee meetings and functions, advocating for the needs and priorities of graduate programs and students.
    Minimum Requirements

    • Doctoral degree in a field relevant to the College of Graduate Studies.
    • Previous experience in teaching and training at the graduate level, mentoring doctoral students in research and course-based learning environments.
    • Demonstrated experience in academic administration, with a particular emphasis on enrollment management in graduate education.
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • A strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities in higher education, specifically in relation to graduate studies.
    • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically, especially in contexts that require innovative approaches to academic growth.
    • Excellent leadership qualities, coupled with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to multitask and work collaboratively with others.
    • Exceptional coordination and planning abilities.

    Working Conditions:
    Professional office environment. Standard office equipment.


    Work hours:
    Mon-Fri, 8 AM-5 PM or as required by responsibilities. Ability to work remotely or at different campus locations as determined by responsibilities.
