    Description

    McCrone-Hartwell seeks a seasoned Professional Civil Engineer to lead our Land Development team in Annapolis, MD. We require an experienced self-starter to manage projects across commercial, residential, and institutional sectors primarily within Maryland, with some work in the surrounding Mid-Atlantic states. Civil expertise in Maryland is preferred.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop business opportunities for our Land Development division
    • Oversee the management of the Land Development department
    • Perform comprehensive civil site design tasks including site layout, land grading, stormwater management, roadway and utility infrastructure, and sediment and erosion control
    • Create CAD drawings, layouts, and production plans adhering to local codes and standards, while ensuring quality control
    • Prepare detailed stormwater management reports, including computations for ESDv, drainage area delineation and runoff, storm drain flows, HGLs, suitability reports, cost estimates, and other associated technical documents
    • Coordinate with clients, consultants, and regulatory agency reviewers throughout the project duration
    • Handle permit processing and submittals with local and state agencies
    • Communicate workflow status and priorities with the project team to meet project goals
    • Develop proposals for potential work and train other team members

    Education and Skills:

    • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university is required
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is essential
    • Proficiency in HydroCAD, TR-55, and Maryland Stormwater Management Design and computation is preferred
    • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary
    • Technical excellence in engineering principles and practices is expected
    • The ability to work independently and as part of a team is crucial
    • Demonstrating precision, thoroughness, and diligence in handling tasks is essential
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess project needs and deliver client solutions are required
