The Digital Enterprise is doing exactly this by combining the real and the digital worlds

    We are looking for engineering students to join the Engineering Leadership Development Program Internship with our Digital Industries Factory Automation division, where we help customers across all sectors of manufacturing to make their plants run faster, more reliably, more securely, and more sustainably. This is a 12-week summer internship (May - August) that will prepare you for a potential opportunity with our fulltime two-year rotational development program and direct entry-level opportunities upon graduation. This position will be based at Alpharetta, GA.

    You'll make a difference by:
    • Engaging in a wide range of functions related to applications engineering and contributing to business outcomes for Siemens industrial automation and digitalization products, such as software design and testing, hardware design, and feasibility analyses.
    • Potential assignments include -
      • Developing proof of concept specifications and systems.
      • Upgrading demo equipment for the marketing team or creating demos for new products and features.
      • Debugging, improving, and documenting customer programs and internal demos.
      • Assisting senior applications engineers with ongoing projects.
    You'll win us over by having the following qualifications:

    Basic Qualifications:
    • Students pursuing a bachelor's degree in: Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering/Technology, Computer Engineering, or Industrial Automation (must be a student at the time of the internship).
    • Ability to work 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, from mid-May to August.
    • Strong programming foundations - experience can come from any language or environment: PLC Languages (IEC 61131), C#, Python, C/C++, Java, Matlab, etc.
    • Acute attention to detail, highly organized, self-motivated, and dedicated to quality and excellence.
    • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Relocation and travel: must be willing and able to relocate for the summer (housing stipend and mileage reimbursement are provided if required to relocate more than 50 miles from your permanent residence).
    • Work Authorization: Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience with control systems, Ethernet networking, windows app development, power electronics, mechanical statics/dynamics, software simulation.
    We offer you:
    • The hourly pay rate for this position is $26.00-$31.00/hr. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
    • Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute into our 401K program.
