    Description
    Position Overview:The CNC Horizontal Mill Operator completes set-ups and operates CNC machines for the efficient production of quality components. This position is responsible for the production of high-tolerance precision parts within the horizontal mill department.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
    • Program, set up, and operate CNC Horizontal Machining Centers.
    • Select and set up tools and ensure proper function as intended.
    • Responsible for sample part and first article buy-offs.
    • Replace worn or damaged cutting tools/inserts as needed.
    • Verify, edit, and load CNC programs.
    • Collaborate with Engineering to develop and maintain accurate Work Instructions.
    • Collaborate with QC to maintain and ensure quality standards throughout the department.
    • Collaborate with Maintenance to maintain functional equipment while demonstrating the ability to follow Safety Standards.
    • Troubleshoot and fix production issues.
    • Suggest and assist in the implementation of process improvement ideas.
    • Demonstrate ability to follow Safety rules.
    • Assist Plant Manager & Production Supervisor in developing and maintaining the Horizontal Mill production schedule.
    • Read blueprints and inspect parts with specified measuring devices.
    • Complete job order documentation in accordance with ISO 9001 quality standards.
    • Conduct yourself in a professional manner.
    • Responsible for Horizontal Mill Department cleanliness.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Skills:
    • 5-7 years of experience in CNC machine set-up, programming, and operations.
    • Extensive experience with Fanuc controls.
    • Ability to edit and write G-code programs.
    • Broad understanding of cutting tools for milling, drilling, tapping, boring, etc.
    • Safety First mindset.
    • Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
    • Mechanical aptitude.
    • Must be action and result-oriented.
    • Shows a consistent positive attitude.
    • The ability to read and write English.

    Qualifications/Education:
    • To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to complete each essential duty to a satisfactory standard.     • GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.
    • Minimum 5 years experience.
    • Previous Supervisor experience preferred.
