Target Pay Range: $150,000-$175,000/year, depending on level of relevant experience and qualifications

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute strategic plans for protein sourcing, aligning with overall company goals.
• Strong knowledge regarding the procurement of beef, pork, and poultry products, ensuring a diverse and well-rounded protein supply.
• Evaluate and assess market conditions for beef, pork, and poultry, adjusting procurement strategies to capitalize on opportunities and mitigate risks.
• Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure a consistent and high-quality protein supply chain.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors to optimize cost efficiency and meat budgetary targets.
• Stay abreast of market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes affecting the protein market.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including logistics, operations, and sales to coordinate and optimize the procurement process.
• Analyze and assess supplier performance, implementing improvements as needed to enhance efficiency and reliability.
• Analyze cost structures, conduct supplier audits, and implement cost-effective measures to enhance overall profitability in protein procurement.
• Lead negotiations and contract renewals with major beef, pork, and poultry suppliers
• Develop and implement key performance indicators to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of procurement processes.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in procurement and sourcing roles, with a focus on beef, pork, and poultry products
• Proven track record of successfully negotiating and managing contracts with suppliers, resulting in cost savings and improved terms.
• Extensive knowledge of global meat markets, industry trends, and supply chain dynamics for protein.
• Strong understanding of quality control standards and regulations related to beef, pork, and poultry procurement.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Proficient in data analysis and utilizing key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive informed decision-making.
• Proven ability to adapt to changing market conditions and implement effective risk management strategies in meat procurement.
