    Job Title: Development Associate

    Salary: $110,000 - $130,000 + Bonus + Benefits

    Location: San Francisco, CA or Portland, OR or Denver, CO

    Work Style: Hybrid

    Reporting to the Senior Manager of Project Development, the Development Associate is tasked with supporting and directly overseeing the progression of projects across the United States, with a primary focus on the West Coast markets. This role plays a pivotal part within a team dedicated to advancing their 9 GW solar, wind, and storage project pipeline from inception to construction. The position entails collaboration with various departments including Origination, Engineering, Project Finance, and Construction, throughout the entire project lifecycle, from conception to commissioning, and all associated activities necessary for successful commercial operation.

    Key Duties:

    • Assist and oversee the development of large-scale renewable energy projects, encompassing project proposal, siting, permitting, design, interconnection, contracting, financing, and transition to construction.
    • Innovate and implement alternative development approaches to mitigate permitting risks, optimize schedules, and enhance project value.
    • Conduct due diligence on development-stage projects and portfolio acquisitions, including comparative analysis and prioritization based on various project metrics.
    • Manage development services agreements with local/regional partners and maintain relationships with project stakeholders.
    • Direct land acquisition processes and real estate development, facilitating the transition of initial project concepts into tangible projects.
    • Support community engagement and public relations initiatives to ensure project success.
    • Collaborate with engineering teams and external consultants on site evaluations, technology assessments, and interconnection requirements.
    • Coordinate project interconnection requests, load-flow studies, and other transmission-related activities.
    • Assist in negotiating critical project contracts such as PPAs, GIAs, and EPC contracts.
    • Support financing efforts through due diligence processes and the procurement of equity and debt commitments.
    • Collaborate with origination teams to market development-stage projects for new power purchase agreements.
    • Develop and manage project budgets and schedules, including internal project reviews and investment decisions.
