An American-based international stock distributor of military/defense and aerospace parts, components, systems, and equipment is looking to hire a Senior Buyer who will be overseeing and assisting with the purchasing as well and reviewing of blueprints/coordinating with vendors, utilizing your mechanical engineering knowledge to select the correct parts to fulfill the order.

You will utilize your machining knowledge to interpret customers' order requests (on blueprints) and purchase all of the required parts for their custom order.

These orders are automotive orders specifically in the defense industry (tanks, fighting vehicles, trucks, artillery [self-propelled and towed], personnel carriers, etc).

• Receive PO's from clients in the form of blueprints
• Research and source machined products per each customers' orders
• Process automotive and defense orders such as army/ground forces equipment, tanks, artillery, countermine equipment, missile launchers, radars, communications equipment and armaments.

• Must come from a machining (Manual or CNC) background
• Mechanical Engineering degree/job history is preferred
• Ability to Read and Interpret Mechanical Drawings and Blueprints
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Minimum 2 years of experience working in an office environment
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to work with others in a team environment.
• Organized and maintain a system for keeping track of tasks and priorities.
• Ability to build relationships and work effectively with other departments in the organization and external resources.
