    Forklift Operator

    Accent Controls, Inc. is seeking full-time Forklift Operators in the Storage/Inventory area to support the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Distribution, located at the Naval Air Station (NAS) Jacksonville, Florida. Forklift Operators will work closely with Government and other contractor employees. Work schedule, Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

    The non-exempt job classification description below is covered under The McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA) with Wage Determinations (WDs). SCA positions furnish services in the U.S. through the employment of service employees. Service employees are compensated per the prevailing wage rates and fringe benefits that are set by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Wage and Hour Division's WDs. 29 CFR Part 541 and 29 CFR 4.163(f)

    21020 Forklift Operator

    The Forklift Operator operates a manually controlled gasoline, electric or liquid propane gas powered forklift to transport goods and materials of all kinds within a warehouse, manufacturing plant, or other establishment. The job description, below, is meant to be a guide. It is not intended to limit in any way the duties an employee may be required to perform. This job description may be updated at the discretion of the company.

    Position Requirements

    JOB REQUIREMENTS
    • Preparing and arranging materials and products in bulk and non-bulk forms for distribution or storage;
    • moving and loading or unloading equipment, materials, and products; driving forklifts, and related material- handling machinery and equipment;
    • using scoops, hand-trucks, and wheelbarrows to load and move materials.
    The forklift operator shall be able to perform all of the tasks listed.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
    • Understand and meet established productivity and quality control goals associated with assigned functional area / process.
    • Understand and use the Government provided Warehouse Management System (WMS) and other Government Data Systems to perform the requirements of the Performance Work Statement (PWS).
    • Follow established guidelines in performing day-to-day routine tasks as outlined in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)/Job Breakdown sheets (JBS), Technical Manuals, and Audit Readiness standards.
    • Understand the Acceptable Performance Levels (APL's) associated with assigned functional work areas / process and work expeditiously to meet contractual and team goals.
    • Adhere to Government and Company policies and procedures.
    • Demonstrated ability to understand and execute all the Various aspects of storage management functions as assigned. Receiving Functions (Receiving & Induction) Verifying correctness of inbound shipments (off-load and Tally). Checking for damaged goods; insuring that goods are appropriately identified for routing within the facility, preparing and keeping records of goods received. Ensuring correct System induction utilizing WMS IAW established SOPs
    • Warehouse (Stow and Storage) Stage and Stow Receipts in appropriate storage areas and locations. Ensure stock material is accurate and stored properly. Ensure material is properly packed and preserved and ready for issue.

    • Ability to operate a variety of tools
    • Experience using warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and handcarts
    • Knowledge of OSHA safety guidelines and practices
    MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS
    • Performs other related duties as required.
    • Practices physical security and is committed to safety practices.
    PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS
    • Including, but not limited to, standing, squatting, lifting (up to 50 pounds); carrying, walking; pushing and pulling
    • Including, but not limited to, sitting and driving a forklift
    • Including, but not limited to, problem-solving, decision-making, data interpretation, organization; reading and writing
    WORKING CONDITIONS

    Subject to working out-of-doors during periods of inclement weather. Is exposed to serious injuries while operating vehicles over public roads and on the installation. Works on concrete floors and in drafty areas. May be exposed to fumes, fluids, dirt, battery acids, etc., resulting in bruises, cuts, burns, and skin irritation. Wearing of hearing protection and other safety equipment is required during all periods of exposure to hazardous conditions.

    QUALIFICATIONS
    • Ability to pass a background investigation to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Common Access Card
    EDUCATION

    High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) equivalent
