Nurse Midwife - Anchorage, United States - GENEVA WOODS MIDWIFERY
Description
We at Geneva Woods Birth Center are looking for two full-time CNMs to join our practice in Anchorage, Alaska.You would be joining a small, collaborative team of 3-4 CNMs, attending births in our CABC-accredited birth center as well as at both local hospitals, and providing full-scope well-women care to our non-pregnant clients.
You would also be practicing alongside a multidisciplinary team of NPs, Pelvic Floor Physical Therapists, a Nutritionist, and Licensed Professional Counselor.
This kind of collaborative, trauma-informed, midwifery-model care environment is an amazing place to learn and thrive as a clinician 2+ years of experience is preferred, but we will consider (as well as support and mentor) recent graduates as well.
Schedule is approximately 15 clinical hours per week, and 10 call shifts per month (which, unlike at a busy hospital, does not entail 'working' the entire 24-hr shift very often).
Alaska is a wonderful state in which to be a midwife We have a high degree of independence, great back-up doctors, and a good working relationship with the hospitals.
Anchorage is also a haven of temperate weather in the summer amidst heat waves that now regularly ravage the contigual US – but is also a relatively short flight from Hawai'i when one needs a break from the winter.
