- Collaborate with academic and research units, auxiliary units, and student groups to pursue U-M's Sustainability Goals
- Track and report the progress toward these goals
- Communicate with the campus and local community to engage staff, students and faculty
- Use templates and the OCS, Planet Blue, and U-M brand guidelines to produce engaging materials such as signage, fact sheets, stickers, presentation slides, web graphics, and event materials
- Respond to and help prioritize requests submitted by OCS staff
- Organize and manage creative assets
- Provide quality control on all materials and address branding questions
- Proactively identify design needs and opportunities
- Graduation from high school, supplemented by technical training in graphic design, illustration, and fine art work
- At least 1 year of work experience in graphic design
- Comfort with Adobe Creative Suite, primarily Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop
- Knowledge of graphic design fundamentals such as layouts, typography, and color
- Clean, simple, effective design approach
- Ability to solicit and respectfully respond to feedback
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate and work with a diverse range of people of various social, cultural, economic, and ethnic backgrounds
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of sustainability preferred
