    Position Summary

    The Sales Planning Analyst supports AWA's business management and expansion by preparing sales plans, market status, forecasts, reporting sales results, and analyses which support the company's growth strategies. This position will work closely with the Manager of Sales Planning in consolidating monthly results, sales plan, market data, forecasts, vehicle volumes, economic indicators, and creating and reporting various analyses. In addition, this position will be responsible for providing insightful information that supports Executives and Management business decision-making needs.

    Position Responsibilities

    The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position:
    • Collect and analyze large sets of data including internal and external market and sales data.
    • Support in managing the Sales Planning processes and activities for Annual Sales Plan [2 times/year], Forecasts [as needed], and Long-Term Sales Plan [1-2 times/year].
    • Analyze and accurately summarize monthly, quarterly, and annual sales variances.
    • Monitor, collect, analyze, and compile auto market, economic indicators, and key trends. Identify and report business implications, risks, and opportunities to Executives and Management.
    • Improve processes and procedures for management's planning and forecasting activities focusing on the demand drivers [example: customer outlooks, vehicle segment trends, monthly vehicle sales and production, dealer inventory, incentive spending, competing vehicles, consumer/social/economic/political trends, etc.]
    • Create presentations and reports for Executives and Management
    • Prepare presentation materials for key meetings as needed [OESC, NAEC, All-Staff Meetings, Board of Directors, etc.]
    • Conduct Monthly and/or Quarterly meetings as required and be prepared to present materials as needed.
    • Collaborate and communicate regularly with different teams and departments to gather and provide information, discuss key issues and insight (internal and external sources and upper and lower-level management).
    • Support information gathering and analyses on special projects as needed (e.g. auto maker strike impact, pandemic, or other crisis impact, etc.)
    • Create standard reports and project deliverables with efficiency and high attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Be fully cross trained for Sales Report creation including Sales Plan vs. Result analysis [monthly and quarterly]
    • Be fully cross trained for sales and financial related reports [monthly and quarterly]
    • Be fully cross trained for market data research and analysis [monthly and quarterly]
    • Be fully cross trained in the systems and sources that support ship history, plan, and market data
    • Participate in automotive market conferences and events, monitor news sources to stay updated and report out as needed (e.g. IHS Markit, Wards Intelligence, Automotive News, CES, NAIAS, etc.)
    • Provide administrative support to management for meetings and special events (e.g. take meeting minutes, reception work, compile data, order supplies, etc.)
    • Provide administrative support to executives, as needed.
    • Plan and track annual performance goals, targets, and development plans.
    • Other tasks and duties as assigned.
    Required Skills and Abilities

    Essential Skills and Experience:
    • 0-4 years of work experience in planning, market research, finance, or related field
    • 0-2 years of work experience in automotive industry
    • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
    • Organized with high attention to detail with minimal/few errors and mistakes
    • Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative
    • Logical/Analytical - forward-thinking, problem-solving and investigational skills
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Efficient with time management
    • Excellent administrative skills with ability to multitask
    • Creative and ability creating effective PowerPoint presentations
    Beneficial Skills and Experience
    • Data analysis, financial analysis, and marketing background [Automotive Tier 1 supplier background preferred]
    • Meeting and/or Event coordination background desirable
    Education/Training/Certifications
    • BA/BS in business, marketing, finance, or equivalent training
    • Microsoft Office product proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
