As a Systems Engineer, you will be using your skills and expertise to research, architect, model, simulate, test, certify and improve cutting edge products and services.
You'll be developing complex system architectures within contextual modeling platforms, ushering them from operational concept through preliminary and detailed design, simulation, and test using progressive tools.
The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems.
Its end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support.
IAS tailors solutions to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements and designs to consistently exceed expectations – with an unrivaled record of on time and on (or under) budget deliveries.
You will be leading a Systems Safety team across the complete life cycle of a major aircraft modification program.This includes overseeing both FAA and Military Systems Safety arenas, being the subject matter expert for safety engineering design, and direct interaction and engagement with the customer.
Leading a team and advising Engineering on all aspects of Systems SafetyParticipating in customer meetings at the Senior Leadership level
Status work activity as a Control Account Manager
Communicating status of the system safety program to the customer
Performing qualitative and quantitative system safety analyses that fulfill customer requirements
Experience with systems safety processes, both civil and military
Experience applying MIL-STD-882E and/or ARP4761 or similar processes, like NASA/SP , to the development of systems, hardware or software
Experience with creation of a Hazard Tracking System (HTS), Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), System or Subsystem Hazard Analysis (SHA/SSHA), Common Cause Analysis (CCA), and the System Safety Assessment (SSA)
Experience with qualitative and/or quantitative system safety analysis
Previous leadership experience:
exposure to recruiting employees including assigning, directing and evaluating their work and overseeing the development and maintenance of staff competence
~ Software development or coding experience
~ Experience developing software system safety analyses
~ Experience with agile development
~ Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using Cameo, Matlab / Simulink or similar
~ Experience mitigating safety risk through design changes, fault detection, usage restrictions, and training
~ Experience in aircraft systems development
~ Experience writing analyses to meet regulation- or customer-driven requirements
~ Experience tailoring analyses or requirements to fit size, complexity, schedule, and budget of program
~ Associate Safety Professional (ASP) / Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certificate
