    Description

    Responsible for leading the development of our consumer insight capabilities and long-range planning for this key competency, including early concepting as well as validation work and brand equity tracking. The successful candidate should demonstrate strong analytics, consumer insight expertise, business acumen and communication skills. The manager will work cross-functionally with a wide variety of stakeholders, including product marketing, brand team, commercial teams, data analytics and external research partners.

    Responsibilities:

    • Primary research – manage all primary research, both qualitative and quantitative studies, at the front-end insight gathering stage all the way through validation efforts. Work with external partners as needed.
    • Research road map – develop multi-year plan for consumer insight generation including A&U, category research and other insight gathering opportunities for the organization.
    • NPD data – work with commercial teams and product management teams to help analyze and monitor category and competitive data, and channel trends including competitive product performance.
    • Voice of the Consumer - Product management represents THE voice of the consumer. Help ensure the team knows our consumer, their background, needs and how the category is used better than anyone. Assist team in bringing innovation to life through concept writing, retail presentations and product positioning by advocating strongly for the consumer.
    • Brand Equity – work with brand team on brand equity projects. Develop brand equity tracking and monitoring for the organization.
    • Data Mining – work with all cross-functional teams to help identify, monitor and mine internal and external data. Develop data mapping techniques and capabilities for the organization that can help influence our product development and go-to-market strategies in both physical retail and digital commerce.
    Required Experience:
    • Bachelor's Degree required
    • Minimum of 4 years of market research experience
    • Experience within consumer-packaged goods industry or market research agency.
    Required Technical Competencies:
    • Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
    • Demonstrated competency in the principles of Market Research
      • Market Analysis and Segmentation
      • Consumer Insight generation techniques
      • Qualitative and quantitative research experience
      • Online and in person testing methodologies.
    • Formal Presentation Skills; experience presenting to upper management and retailers.
