- Apply structural engineering and detailing technique
- Work on projects that typically include bridge (steel plate girder, prestress concrete, segmental and cable) box culvert, and interchange design for highway and railway project
- Select standard bridge engineering/design procedures, develop structural details using specialized structural design and analysis software, and perform structural load calculations and assist with geometric layout and quantity development
- Review, assign work and/or check design calculations, estimates, and specifications produced by junior engineers and EIT
- Perform other duties as needed
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or bridge engineering related field required.
- PE required.
- 5+ years bridge/structural design experience required.
- Must have proven hands on experience in all aspects of bridge design projects.
- Proficiency with bridge analysis & design software programs required.
- Microsoft Office software and Microstation desired.
- Experience using structural analysis programs bridge design software load rating and bridge rehabilitation is a must.
- Demonstrated leadership skills communication skills and ability to work with various teams required.
- Strong communication skills and willing to work in a team environment.
- An attitude and commitment to be an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
- MSCE in Structural Engineering preferred.
- Experience with local owners like VDOT, DDOT, MDSHA, MDTA or local municipalities is strongly preferred.
- Preference given to local candidates.
