    Description
    Role Overview

    Assists in the maintenance of the Board of Education owned vehicles in such a state of operating excellence that they present no problems or interruptions to the educational programs.


    Minimum Requirements
    High school diploma/GED.

    Possess valid "CDL" driver's license – Class B with Passenger, Air Brake and School Bus Endorsement or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment.

    Possess a valid driver's license with no court ordered restrictions, verified with driving history record.

    Minimum of three (3) years of experience in automobile and truck collision repair with basic tools to perform the tasks.

    Knowledgeable in best practices and procedures for body repairs, finishing and painting on cars, trucks and school buses.
    Ability to use independent judgment related to the methods of repair.
    Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
    Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Knowledge of MOSHA and OSHA regulations as they relate to body repair, finishing and painting on cars, trucks and school buses.

    ASE Certification in collision repair & refinishing.
    Completed vocational or trade school training in a related field, such as automobile and truck collision repair.
    Experience in school bus collision repair.
    Five (5) years of experience as an automobile and/or truck collision repair technician.

    Role Responsibilities
    Work independently to perform body repairs, finishing and painting on cars, trucks and school buses.
    Perform repairs to fleet's air conditioning systems.
    Perform a variety of welding tasks.
    Perform major and minor collision repairs on cars, trucks and buses.
    Respond to off-hour emergency road calls for accidents, inclement weather and/or breakdowns.
    Install, configure, and maintain digital camera systems, cell phones, and GPS systems.
    Perform the duties as a substitute bus driver when needed.
    Troubleshoot and repair vehicle computer-controlled systems; air bags, brakes (ABS), engines and transmissions.
    Assist in performing Class A and Class B State School Bus Inspections.
    Possess ability to use fleet maintenance programs; computer-controlled work orders; parts; and vehicle history.

    Service the vehicle onboard computer monitoring system, digital camera systems, cell phones and other technology added to the bus.

    Demonstrate courteous and professional demeanor to all stakeholders of Washington County Public Schools.
    Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Transportation or his/her designee.
