      Job Overview:
      Use knowledge of, and experience with, lean manufacturing principles, applying/exercising automotive industry equivalent Toyota Production System (TPS) methodologies, problem solving skills (such as 5why, A3 problem solving sheet, 8D analysis), Six Sigma tools (such as histogram charts, control charts, MSA measurement system analysis, Minitab Software etc.), mistake proofing devices/processes, KAIZEN principals, line-balancing, Value Stream Analysis, 5S method, VISIO (process mapping) and Share Point to perform strategic planning and systematic evaluation operations with an emphasis on establishing sustainable lean manufacturing principles. Observe day-to-day operations to identify improvement opportunities. Define project scopes, develop project plans to improve effectiveness and/or increase efficiency of manufacturing processes. Perform a variety of other complicated tasks relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish plant goals.Lead strategic Lean projects through planning, execution, optimization, and evaluation in close collaboration with the Continuous Improvement Workshop and relevant stakeholders, with the target of continuous improvement (e.g. efficiency, quality, etc.) within manufacturing and/or administrative environments.Organize and facilitate planning and clarification workshops for Lean projects, strategic plant projects, and organizational developments. These workshops are aimed at conducting project reviews in preparation for operational ramp-ups or significant adjustments within the plant organization. Moderating workshops with the goal of maintaining neutrality.Serve as a single point of contact between team members and department leaders of the responsible operational area, ensuring a deep understanding of customer needs for consulting support and conceptual work while driving forward continuous improvement projects and Lean-related business plan initiatives.Coordinate and drive the design of innovative equipment development solutions, such as car sets, handling devices, low-cost automations, and more, from concept and mockup phase to final implementation and stabilization by introducing sophisticated, solution-oriented production aids; adhering to lean principles; and aligning with stakeholders.Conduct Lean Assessments for manufacturing operations in partnership with the customer to evaluate compliance with defined manufacturing production system and its core principles. Identify deficiencies and areas for improvement in preparation for the upcoming business plan cycle.Lead cross-functional teams during critical operational challenges (e.g. crisis, taskforce etc.), leveraging Project Management, leadership skills, and problem-solving methodologies to achieve immediate operational turnaround and operational excellence.Collaborate with other company manufacturing production system experts and operational areas in various facilities to foster valuable exchanges, facilitate benchmarking activities across company facilities, external competitors, and various industries to drive continuous improvement, promote adoption of best practices, and uphold our commitment to excellence within our organization.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create, document and implement process standards in operation.Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Manufacturing Engineering or related field plus five (5) years of experience working in an automotive production environment and two (2) years of experience applying knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, TPS methodologies and two (2) years of experience in the effective utilization of various project management, analysis and communication tools and techniques, including communication, analysis, timeline creation, meeting minutes, slide layout design, the generation of detailed reports and tracking lists, using Microsoft Office platform (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ThinkCell, etc.). In lieu of the Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Manufacturing Engineering or related and five (5) years of experience will accept any suitable combination of education, training, and experience.New hires subject to drug test and background check. 10% international and domestic travel may be required.
