About the Role
We are in search of candidates for multiple Shift Supervisor positions at our Valor Place youth residential program in Detroit. We need capable and accountable individuals to lead a team of Youth Specialists who assist young individuals aged 15 to 19 in a residential environment. Valor Place offers round-the-clock services, including counseling and education. Ideal applicants exhibit strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills, with a genuine dedication to helping young people reach their objectives and foster a positive peer community. The starting pay aligns with relevant experience.
The program participants may undergo individual counseling focusing on personal responsibility and restorative justice. Shift Supervisors oversee all staff during their shift, ensuring that the designated staff-to-resident ratios are maintained through efficient scheduling. This position plays a key role in upholding program quality, treatment standards, and compliance with regulations from the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services and Child Welfare Licensing. Spectrum Child and Family Services holds full accreditation from the Council on Accreditation (COA).
The perfect candidate will excel in communication and employee guidance. Shift Supervisors are active leaders, providing observation and feedback to help Youth Workers grow during their shifts.
Successful Shift Supervisors are well-versed in policies, facility programs, and procedures. The objective is to foster an environment that supports progression and engagement in Spectrum's mission to emerge as Michigan's preferred provider of high-security treatment and detention services.
