    Purchasing Agent - Residential Construction - Raleigh, NC

    We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Agent to join our construction team.

    This position offers an opportunity to be an integral part of our construction operations, directly influencing our projects' success and profitability.

    The Purchasing Agent will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating all purchasing activities, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery of materials.

    Develop and implement purchasing strategies to ensure timely procurement of materials and services required for construction projects.
    Review purchase orders for accuracy and adherence to company policy and procedures.
    Perform cost analysis and set benchmarks to monitor system effectiveness.
    Collaborate with project managers and engineers to clarify specifications, control costs, and ensure timely delivery of materials.
    Keep abreast of market trends and changes affecting both procurement and the construction industry.
    Evaluate vendor performance, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and delivery terms.
    Prepare and present detailed reports on purchasing activities and costs for senior management.
    Collaborate with the finance department to optimize financial reporting and forecasting related to purchasing.
    A minimum of 3 years of experience in a purchasing role, preferably within the construction industry.
    Proven experience with purchasing, purchase orders, material costs, and vendor management.
    Strong understanding of the residential construction process and home building.
    Proficiency in cost analysis and financial reporting.
    Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and handle pressure in a fast-paced environment.
    Proficiency in using purchasing and project management software.
    Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
