    Description

    Summary



    Employees at this grade level are qualified as radiological technologist with advanced experience and serves above the full-performance level. The incumbent operates equipment both mobile and fixed radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment and assists the radiologist/physician in fluoroscopic procedures as part of the diagnostic plan for patients. The incumbent performs a variety of moderate to very difficult radiographic examinations and makes exposures necessary for the requested procedure.



    Duties


    Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist operate equipment both mobile and fixed radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment and assist the radiologist/physician in fluoroscopic procedures as part of the diagnostic plan for patients. The incumbent performs a variety of moderate to very difficult radiographic examinations and makes exposures necessary for the requested procedure. Monitors, observes, and assists patients.

    Major duties include but are not limited to:

    Imaging Professional

    • Coordinate daily schedule.
    • Report equipment failure to supervisor/appropriate staff.
    • Support maintenance of inventory supplies.
    • Ensure compliance in hospital safety and radiation safety protocols.
    • Ensure all documentation required for the completion of exams is done.
    Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (Registered)
    • Perform high quality imaging services.
    • Safely transfers patients from stretcher or wheelchair to radiographic table.
    • Prepare room, equipment, and material needed for patient procedures.
    • Carry out assigned tasks independently.
    • Perform the full spectrum of radiographic exams, including standard radiographs, gastrointestinal exams, and genitourinary exams.
    • Process images by using (DR) digital Radiography, including specific exposure requirements, and digital postprocessing techniques to optimize image quality.
    • Demonstrate fundamental knowledge of the DR network and interface with the VISTA imaging and PACS.
