- Oversee the daily operations of the production department, ensuring compliance with company standards, safety regulations, and productivity goals.
- Implement and monitor quality control standards, procedures, and specifications to meet food safety requirements and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure high-quality raw materials selection and evaluate supplier performance.
- Lead the quality assurance team in conducting regular product and process audits, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain production schedules in alignment with inventory needs and demand forecasting.
- Coordinate with the R&D department to scale up new products from development to commercial production, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Train and mentor production and quality control staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
- Prepare and manage the departmental budget, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining quality standards.
- Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in food technology, and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and competitive advantage.
- Bachelors degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a production management and quality assurance role within the food manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, FDA, and other food safety standards and regulations.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop a team.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and production management software.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
