    An Environmental and Safety Manager job in N. Wilkesboro, NC is available with Storm Search. This is a Direct Hire job opportunity offering a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.

    Relocation assistance is also available.


    The Environmental and Safety Manager will be responsible for carrying out day-to-day environmental, health and safety activities for the plant.

    The objectives of this position are to ensure compliance with the requirements of Federal, State, and local environmental regulations, develop waste minimization plans, coordinate emergency activities for the facility, and to develop cost effective solutions to environmental problems faced by the plant.

    Some of the Responsibilities of the Environmental and Safety Manager include:
    Air Quality Control
    Waste Management
    Wastewater Treatment System
    Stormwater Management
    Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Management (SPCC)
    ISO 14000
    Industrial Hygiene
    Safety Administration, Coordination and Support
    Problem-Solving

    Some of the Requirements/Qualifications of the Environmental and Safety Manager include:4-year degree from an accredited institution. Experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
    Thorough understanding of environmental compliance regulations
    Thorough understanding of occupational Safety and health regulations
    Thorough understanding of industrial hygiene monitoring, evaluation and control
    Experience leading environmental and safety at a manufacturing facility
    Experience with managing environmental compliance of a manufacturing facility
    Must be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
    Must have excellent written/verbal skills as well as analytical and problem solving skills
    Responsible for observing all plant standard operating procedures and safety policies
    Responsible for teamwork communication with staff and management
    Must participate in safety committees and activities
    Must work safely wearing all required PPE
    Possible occasional travel in the field
