Applications Administrator plays a crucial role in applying and supporting technology to ensure business operations run smoothly.
Responsible for supporting various application systems across different functional business areas within the Enterprise, including Merchandise Systems, E Commerce, Supply Chain Systems, Store Systems, Point of Sale POS, Financial Systems, Human Capital Applications, Hospitality Property Management, EDI, RIB Services, Release Management Automation Support, SharePoint, Identity Management, Service Desk Applications, Asset Management, and more.
Handles operational maintenance, support, information assurance, and lifecycle management of business applications within their scope, as well as implementing new application features and upgrades.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Acts as a bridge between the help desk, systems administrators, database administrators, and functional (E Business) users.
Installs and configures application software.
Manages application parameters.
Serves as the point of contact for application vendors, database administrators, and systems administrators regarding application functionality and configuration.
Identifies and troubleshoots technical application issues, collaborating with other support teams for solutions.
Assists in implementing security strategies for applications based on requirements.
Monitors applications for performance issues and coordinates resolutions with other support teams.
Generates regular processing reports to identify and resolve errors, distinguishing between databases, application, and customized application problems.
Monitors, coordinates, and installs vendor-provided systems applications software patches, cyclical releases, and major upgrades.
Assists in developing strategies for major release installations.
Provides supporting documentation for systems.
Conducts impact analysis on all patches before installation.
Offers technical support for interfaces.
Responds to Service Desk Requests according to NEXCOM SLA's.
Ensures the strict application of Information Security/Information Assurance policies, principles, and practices in Systems, Applications, and/or Services delivery.
