Overview of the Role The Finance team is seeking a self-starter corporate finance professional to help inform strategic decisions for both Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and hardware business models. You will own, develop, and create new reporting, modeling, and analytical frameworks that drive optimal decisions to support our growth. This will involve analytical rigor, collaboration with stakeholders, and a strong sense of curiosity and ownership to provide actionable business recommendations that shape our long-term strategy and execution. Exceptional performers will build partnerships across departments and with our executive leadership, as well as find opportunities for subsequent exposure across Stem's finance organization and opportunities for career advancement. Experience in a SaaS-based business model is highly desired. Experience in the renewable energy industry is desirable but not required. This role is leveled for a Senior Finance Analyst but we are open to considering a uniquely exceptional candidate at the Finance Manager level. Scroll below to learn more about Stem. Responsibilities
    • Serve as a strategic finance partner to senior management by working cross-functionally to identify and analyze key trends and drivers
    • Support corporate and department-level planning, forecasting, and management reporting that guide strategic, financial, and operational decisions
    • Drive organizational process improvements, including implementing best practices in forecasting, reporting, and close with emphasis on scale and automation
    • Partner with Accounting to ensure close accuracy and help drive process improvements and efficiencies
    • Other ad hoc areas including but not limited to: Treasury, Investor Relations, Corporate Development, and Corporate Strategy
    Requirements
    • 5+ years of directly applicable experience in FP&A, business finance, investment banking, management consulting, or related fields
    • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience with building complex financial models
    • Proficiency with financial reporting fundamentals (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow statement, monthly key metric reporting) and basic understanding of US GAAP accounting principles
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, intellectual curiosity, and ability to work independently
    • Clarity and concision in both written and verbal communication
    • Experience supporting a SaaS-based business model is highly preferred
    • Proficiency with NetSuite, Salesforce, Vena, or similar systems is highly preferred but not required
