    Technical Support Specialist 2
    Job Code: 104575Job SummarySupport Company Operations initiatives associated with the applicable technical functions of Measurement and Regulation M&R activities.

    Provide oversight and support to company field personnel conducting various tasks related to Measurement and Regulation M&R type activities to ensure compliance.


    Key Results:


    Compliance with NiSource Gas Standards, as well as all other regulatory requirements; pertaining to field tasks being conductedEffective, knowledgeable, safety conscious operations personnelEffective communications with field employeesEnsuring well trained and properly qualified workforce in accordance with Common Operator Qualification PlanPrincipal Duties and ResponsibilitiesConduct QA(Quality Assurance)/QC(Quality Control) audits on company operations field personnel involved in Measurement and Regulation M&R type activitiesEnsure compliance with all applicable Gas Standards, as well as other regulatory requirements; as it pertains to tasks being conductedEffectively communicate and correct on-site any violations of procedures observedProvide coaching when deemed necessary to educate on proper procedures to follow for tasks conductedEnsure all safety requirements are followed for field tasks conducted and proper PPE donnedDocument and report any findings(violation of procedures) observedProvide recommendations to leadership in regards to additional training that may be needed based on field observationsAssist local management in developing a process improvement plan when deemed necessaryCommunicate with training department any gaps observed based on field observationsEnsure an un-biased evaluation of company personnel while conducting QA/QCsCommunicate with various Operating Areas to plan and organize QA/QC scheduleProvide additional support as needed to local areas when deemed necessaryConduct QA/QC service type audits on employees across the NiSource footprintConduct QA/QC audits on Measurement and Regulation M&R employees throughout the operating areasAssist as needed in combined team audits(team audits are conducted four times a year in various state)Travel to various states when needed for audits, training and to attend meetingsRequired Qualifications for PositionKnowledgeable in field operations and state specific Policies and ProceduresMinimum two years experience in measurement and regulation type activitiesEffective written and oral communications skillsStrong planning and organizational skillsInterpersonal skills, enjoy working in a team type environmentPreferred Additional Qualifications for PositionMinimum two years experience in Measurement and Regulation M&R type activitiesKnowledgeable in operations computer support systemsPrior training experienceBachelor degree in business or technical disciplinePrior leadership experiencePrior auditing experience in field activitiesDisclaimerThe preceding description is not designed to be a complete list of all duties and responsibilities required of the position.
