Description
Under the general supervision of the Lead CRNA and Physician Supervisor (Anesthesia trained, MGB clinical staff) incumbent provides anesthesia services to patients.
Reviews patients' medical history, assists in the selection of the type of anesthesia, administers an anesthetic and monitors patients during the procedure.
The incumbent is responsible for supplying documentation of continued registration as a CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist).Reviews patients' medical history. Prepares and evaluates the safety of anesthetic equipment, supplies and drugs.
Insert invasive monitoring lines required for an anesthetic and interpret the data.
Monitors the life support functions of patient during period of anesthesia, or surgery as needed.
Provides observation and care in the immediate post operative period until a report of pertinent information has been given to and responsibility for the patient accepted by the RN or MD covering the appropriate recovery area.
Responsible for supplying documentation of continued registration as a CRNA.
