    Our Naval Acquisition and Sustainment Operation, which is part of Serco's Maritime Engineering, Technology and Sustainment (METS) business, provides critical services to nearly all U.

    S
    Navy surface ships and craft, supporting new construction, repair, maintenance, modernization, and sustainment
    You will work closely with Government, maritime industry professionals, and other support personnel

    In this role:

    • You will assist the Government Amphibious Warfare Program Office deliver new ships and landing craft to the fleet, providing overall program management support to a Principle Assistant Program Manager (PAPM) and their staff on a ACAT ID, IC, or III program and providing direct support integral to acquisition programs
    You will be responsible for managing projects and related task orders for customers

    This may include:

    • Directly support the Test and Evaluation Principal Assistant Program Manager (PAPM) and provide overall T&E management support,
    • Coordinate Developmental, Operational, and Live Fire T&E (LFT&E) support activities,
    • Liaison with COMOPTEVFOR and other oversite organizations,
    • Assisting in the development of the Test and Evaluation Management Plan (TEMP),
    • Providing current and out-year planning, scheduling, and task allocation support, and
    • Produce accurate reports in support of T&E activities.
    • You will provide expertise to customers to ensure resolution of issues, providing program and engineering liaison support, problem tracking, and resolution management support
    A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.


    • Most importantly, you will lead and direct the work of others including providing mentorship and technical guidance
    Your team will be made of individuals in varied labor categories and at differing experience levels
    You will direct their efforts to provide excellent customer support and meet expected deliverable schedules and quality levels by assigning, scheduling, prioritizing, coordinating, and facilitating multiple tasks
    You will evaluate performance of subcontractors and staff in terms of actual and planned task schedules and resource requirements
    You will review work for quality assurance
    You will ensure the training of staff members and instruct them on customer's and Serco methods, procedures, and standards.


    • You will also be responsible for acquiring follow-on business associated with assigned projects and for supporting new business development by leading relatively small proposals or assisting with major proposals
    Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will have:


    • A Highschool Diploma or GED plus 15 years of relevant experience in naval developmental, operational, and live fire test and evaluation

    Individuals with college degrees or technical school or military certifications, including those with less years of experience, will be considered.


    • Relevant DoD T&E experience is required
    U.S
    Navy or U.S
    Coast Guard experience in ship and/or landing craft T&E experience is required
    Relevant Amphibious warship ship and/or landing craft T&E experience is ideal.


    • An active DoD Top Secret security clearance or be able to obtain an interim clearance post-employment.
    • United States (U.S.) citizenship.
    • Ability to operate personal computers and have good knowledge and operational abilities with Microsoft Office tools.
    • Ability to support activities in a shipyard or naval facility
    Some work may occur within an industrial field office, outdoors and/or aboard ship while the ship is undergoing construction, alteration, activation, overhaul, repair, and/or underway trials
    Walking and climbing throughout the ship, to accomplish ship checks, may be required

    Exposure to high noise levels, uncomfortable temperatures, heights, or other industrial safety conditions will require use of personal protective clothing and equipment.


    • Ability to travel (less than 10%) to support activities in a shipyard or naval facility or onboard ship while underway

    Additional desired experience and skills:

    • A Master's degree in an engineering discipline with 8-10 years of relevant experience is preferred.
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desired.
    • Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act of 1990 (DAWIA) certification is desired.
    • DoD/Navy ACAT I Program experience is desired
