    Description

    The Category Analyst is responsible for running and compiling sales summaries, analyzing the data and providing actionable insights for retailer business. Will also support the sales team in completing forms needed for other internal departments.

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct strategic business planning, including category management, space management, product evaluation, and promotion planning.
    • Analyze retailing and shopper behaviors, leveraging insights for clear recommendations.
    • Identify trends and opportunities for brands and competitors, maintaining regular reporting.
    • Enhance business operations through consultative insights for increased sales.
    • Manage syndicated and non-syndicated data resources.
    • Leverage analytical insights for category growth and merchandising opportunities.
    • Recommend insights-based actions for incremental revenue.
    • Develop and share best practices within the team.
    • Coordinate with the field Insights team for client presentations and analyses.
    • Analyze post-promotion data, quantifying impact on brand and category.

    Position Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in related field (Business Management, Statistics, Economics, Marketing, Sales, etc); or equivalent work experience
    • 2 years of data analysis experience; CPG/FMCG experience preferred.
    • Strong Knowledge of Consumer Products Industry, Free-From Foods preferred.
    • Strong communication; Power BI and Excel proficiency; project management; teamwork; translation of trends into implications; knowledge of statistics.
    • Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint,and other market data tools.
    • Proven analytical and problem solving skills
    • Proficient in pulling and analyzing syndicated data sources such as SPINS, Nielsen, Circana (IRI), Numerator
    • Proficient in space management/planogram tools such as Blue Yonder preferred
    • Store Clustering and Segmentation analysis desired
    • Experience with Retail Link, Whole Foods Portal, Partners Online, and 8451 are a plus
    • Excellent communication skills (both verbal/written)
    • Ability to motivate and gain cooperation from others.
    • Sales presentation building and delivery experience.
    • Ability to think strategically and work in a team environment.
    • A willingness to lead, take charge, offer opinions and direction.

    Working Conditions:

    Up to 25% Travel

    While performing the duties of this position, employee will constantly be seeing and reviewing data.
