• Work 16 hours per week as a Dental Hygienist for Premier HealthCare performing all the responsibilities as they presently exist or as they may change due to the demands and needs of the program
• Meet with your direct supervisor, Anna Viron, D.D.S., Chief of Dentistry, on a regular on-going basis to review your duties and responsibilities, providing the necessary materials in a timely and professional manner
• Provide dental care and treatment to patients as follows
• Patient screening procedures; such as assessment of oral health conditions, review of health history, oral cancer screening, head and neck inspection
• Taking and developing dental radiographs
• Removing calculus and plaque (hard and soft deposits) from all surfaces of teeth
• Applying preventative materials to teeth (e.g. sealants and fluorides)
• Teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g. tooth brushing flossing, and nutritional counseling) and also provide general health education as it relates to dental care
• Provide oversight, manage and maintain optimal patient panel designated by supervisor
• Makes referrals, as indicated by the assessed needs of the patients
• Documents complete information on dental charts
• Participates as a member of the Medical Staff and adheres to the Medical Staff By-Laws/Rules and Regulations
