    Description
    Position Objective:Reliable Carriers is seeking a qualified Equipment Manager for our Canton Michigan location. This individual will need to possess a well-rounded knowledge of diesel equipment technology and repair. Must demonstrate competent communication and leadership skills. The ideal candidate will be proficient on a computer, specifically technologies for tracking and coordinating repairs on equipment.

    Primary Responsibilities:
    • Oversee operations across all 5 of our in-house shop locations nationwide.
    • Manage and document all equipment and driver usage of equipment.
    • Provide clerical and administrative support to the shop.
    • Work and negotiate with vendors on outside repairs.
    • Support daily equipment meetings.
    • Monitor work done on equipment by outside vendors and provide status updates and reporting.
    • Answer shop emails and phone calls.
    • Act as a liaison between the shop and operations in regard to the status of equipment and providing equipment to drivers.
    • Relay information to drivers.
    • Work on equipment as needed during peak times.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:Candidate must have solid mechanical ability. Candidate must have the ability to identify potential issues and solve them. Solid communication skills are key. This person will need to be able to think on their feet, have patience, and possess a can-do attitude, yet know when it is time to ask for assistance. Other necessary skills include:
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • A solid understanding of MS Excel, Outlook, and Word.
    • Strong data entry skills.
    • Strong proofing skills.
    • Ability to identify issues and troubleshoot them.
    • Ability to work in a team atmosphere.
    • Previous shop or diesel tech experience required.

    Education:
    • High School Diploma/GED or higher preferred.

    Experience:
    • Previous shop or diesel technician experience required.

    Skills:
    • Microsoft products, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
    • Proficient with computers and a strong aptitude for learning new applications.
