Walmart's Global Sourcing Technology team is responsible for building and maintaining software that enables Walmart to Source the best quality products at the lowest possible price and pass that savings to our Customers so they canSave Money and Live Better .You will be part of the application development team leading software design and implementation, problem solving, leading consistency across our team in quality standards, ensuring our teams adhere to micro-service architecture principles, research and propose ideas that allows our teams to solve problems faster and provide engineering efficiency as they work with our customers to deliver world-class software solutions.

About Team:
Focusing on customer, associate and business needs, this team works with Walmart International, which includes more than 5,200 retail units, operating in 23 countries such as Canada, Central America, Chile, China, India, Mexico and South Africa to name a few

What you'll do:

Provide technical leadership for an agile development team of 4-5 engineersCollaborate with cross-functional teams (Product Management, Market Operations) to gather requirements, create software design specifications and high level estimates.

Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve scalable, secure, and high-performance APIs, micro services and components using technologies like Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, RDBMS, NoSQL DB etcUtilize public cloud tools and resources to scale storage and computations in Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure and to improve performance and cost reduction.

Perform design and code reviews, suggest improvements to ensure the highest level of quality and maintainabilityOversee development lifecycles, Analyze application logs, maintenance activity data, performance data and provide analysis; Evaluate change requests to identify those which are valid and feasibleWhat you'll bring:

Master's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3+ year of experience in software engineering or related area(OR) Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 7+ years of experience in software engineering or related areaStrong background in Technical Solutions Architecture and DesignStrong API design, development, and management experienceStrong Java, Spring Boot experienceExperience working with relational databases including MySQL or PostgreSQL and non-relational databases including Cassandra , Cosmos or MongoDBStrong experience in RESTful Microservices and Container technologies such as Docker on KubernetesExperience building high throughput, low latency asynchronous applications using Kafka and other messaging frameworksExperience working on public cloud providers including Azure or GCPExperience with CI/CD and DevOpsExperience working in a KPI driven highly agile environmentAbout Walmart Global TechImagine working in an environment where one line of code can make life easier for hundreds of millions of people.
