    About the Position: The role of the Senior Research Associate at the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Planning is to conduct sophisticated analyses utilizing both internal and external data sources. This position is essential in supporting accreditation and compliance reporting through the collection, analysis, and presentation of pertinent data. The Senior Research Associate collaborates closely with team members inside and outside of the office in creating actionable research focused on student success, faculty productivity, competitive positioning, enrollment projections, and other institutional projects that guide university planning.

    Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate and complete compliance reporting for state/federal entities and accreditations.
    • Perform detailed quantitative analyses to bolster academic planning and decision-making.
    • Support the development of tools to ensure data accuracy within the Mason Insight Data to Analytics Solutions (MIDAS) project.
    • Engage in national dialogues to identify institutional research needs.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in a related field.
    • Minimum of three years professional experience in education or social science related research.
    • Strong background in statistical analysis and research design.
    • Proficiency in programming with statistical analysis packages.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Capability to manage multiple projects with precision.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Terminal degree in a related field.
    • Five years progressive experience in institutional research/effectiveness.
    • Proficiency in SAS and SQL programming.
    • Knowledge of ERP systems such as Banner, PeopleSoft, or SAP.
