    The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant 3 for the Nevada Career Studio.

    Looking for an exciting opportunity to join a supportive team dedicated to helping students pursue their career goals? The Nevada Career Studio is seeking a highly organized, tech-savvy, and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant 3 to join its team.

    Located on the second floor of the Pennington Student Achievement Center at the University of Nevada, Reno, the Nevada Career Studio is the University's central career services office. The Studio provides career development support to all university students and is committed to innovative and tech-forward programming. As an Administrative Assistant 3, you'll assist with managing budgets, hire and train student workers, create monthly reports, maintain the Handshake job board system, provide support for events and projects, and provide administrative support such as customer service and event coordination.

    The ideal candidate for this position will have excellent organizational and communication skills, be detail-oriented, and be passionate about helping students succeed.     PER EXECUTIVE ORDER

    ALL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN WAIVERED FOR THIS POSITION UNTIL JUNE 30TH, 2024.

    Please refer to the link for more information: Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.

    Required Qualifications
    • Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three (3) years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR
    • One (1) year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
    This position requires candidates to complete a fingerprinting/background check.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Candidates with experience working independently and who are able to multitask and prioritize various duties throughout the day are encouraged to apply.

    Schedule

    The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.

    Compensation Grade

    Grade 27 (Entry, Step 01 $19.94/hr. - Step 08 $26.63/hr.)

    In classified service, salary is in Grade and Step. The Step is determined based on the Nevada Administrative Code. Salary placement above a Step 01 at initial appointment is determined based on the recruitment, the candidate's qualifications, internal equity and budgets. A request to accelerate salary must be approved by Human Resources and abide by the Nevada Administrative Code.
