Description
We are currently supporting one of our clients in their search for an Electric Engineer to join their team.The Electrical Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and sustainable operation of our distribution system through engineering and design.
Working collaboratively with various teams and external stakeholders, this position spearheads the development of technical projects essential for our operations.
This role would be a combination of in person in the office, and in the field at the project sites to help with inspections an field work.
Responsibilities:
Designing, controlling, and implementing electrical systems and products
Enhancing, maintaining, or innovating electrical instruments, facilities, and equipment for diverse applications
Utilizing computer-assisted design and engineering tools to perform a spectrum of engineering tasks
Engaging with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders to discuss ongoing or potential engineering endeavors
Ensuring adherence to standards and customer specifications through meticulous preparation of electrical system specifications, technical drawings, and maps
Setting construction, manufacturing, and installation standards through detailed calculations
Overseeing installation, manufacturing, and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements
Compiling comprehensive reports and data analysis for ongoing and prospective electrical engineering projects
Developing specifications for the procurement of electrical equipment and materials, including cost estimation for budgeting purposes
Performing other duties as required or assigned
Skills:
Proficiency in relevant codes governing electronic engineering practices
Expertise in design and calculation software
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional organizational abilities with keen attention to detail
Analytical mindset coupled with effective problem-solving skills
In-depth understanding of electric utility distribution planning, construction, operation, and maintenance
Familiarity with electric utility operations, including three-phase alternating current power generation, transmission, and distribution
Knowledge of distribution planning principles is advantageous
Education:
Bachelor's Degree required - Engineering (electrical preferred)
Engineering degree from an ABET accredited university OR Engineering degree from a non-ABET accredited university combined with a Professional Engineering license
