Safety Specialist - Arizona City - Super Radiator Coils
Description
LocationThis position will be primarily based out of our Mesa I facility located at 4712 S Ellsworth Rd, Mesa, AZ Though pending business needs could slide to other AZ sites.
Position Description
The Safety Specialist is responsible for maintaining all aspects of our safety culture to achieve and maintain excellence at an industry leading level. The Safety Specialist will oversee and maintain regulation record keeping, work with the Safety Support team members, regulate safety supplies, schedule, and conduct safety training sessions, be a point of contact for team members to address potential safety hazards and issues, investigate accidents and incidents, and represent a strong positive reflection of our company's core values. This role reports to the Safety Supervisor for our Arizona Division.
Essential Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate safety record keeping and tracking, both physical and digital forms.
• Oversee and maintain Safety Data Sheets up to date.
• Oversee the success and sustainability of the Safety Support Team.
o Individuals delegated for rotational safety support are not permanently in a safety position. They still work their primary position in full with brief moments assisting to safety items.
• Elevated point of contact for team members to address potential safety concerns.
• Stock and maintain adequate safety supply levels.
o We partner with companies who have similar values to our own and create a positive professional relationship.
• Create and lead safety training classes for different aspects and focus points.
• Assist with environmental regulations, meeting respective deadlines.
• Work with 3rd party resources for additional safety training needed/required.
• Enforce the use of proper P.P.E. required and have great knowledge to explain why it is important.
• Ensure all safety equipment is kept clean, sanitized, and exemplifies our level of excellence.
• Always strive to represent our safety culture in a positive manner and avoid fueling any team member's negativity by working as a team to find potential solutions to issues or concerns.
• Represent Super Radiator Coils' core values and mission.
Requirements
Qualifications
• Required minimum of 1-3 years prior experience with a safety role in manufacturing.
• Preferred minimum of 1-year prior experience with an environmental role.
• Required High school diploma/equivalent or higher.
• Preferred OSHA-10 or OSHA-30 General Industry Certification or other safety related certification.
• Preferred experience working in manufacturing or with entry level team members.
• Preferred experience working in a mid-sized company where gap-filling is routine.
• Comfortable in a fast paced and changing environment.
• Travel: Arizona has multiple facilities, pending where support is needed, travel between facilities is to be expected.
• Stable and reliable attendance
o A pattern of Late Ins, Early Outs, Unexcused Call Outs, etc. is not acceptable.
• Strong positive work ethic
o Have a good history of safe work practices, focus on quality, and steady efficiency.
o Personal errors in your specific department can happen, what is important is if you are able to learn from an error and move forward in a positive manner.

o This role requires the capability to fully diffuse a negative or tense situation. This is a leadership position that must have a strength in not adding to negatively fueled arguments in front of the team. Must be able to have self-awareness of when to step away from a negative situation and ask for assistance.
• Multi-lingual
English and Spanish are the Arizona team's top two primary languages. Fluency, consisting of reading, writing, speaking, and listening in both is recommended. Ancillary would be full comprehension in English with base understanding in Spanish while continuing to learn and develop the communication skill set overtime.
