    Established in 1970, Orthopedic Associates of Hartford, P.C. (OAH) is one of the area's largest and most respected orthopedic specialty groups. We currently have a great opportunity for an Accounting Manager to join our finance and management team.

    • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) As Accounting Manager, you will work closely with the CFO to ensure the accuracy of accounting information and processes, while providing meaningful financial information to leadership. The Accounting Manager will provide day-to-day management of an accounting department consisting of staff accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and some payroll.

    Duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Oversee all aspects of the company's financial operations and ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
    • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
    • Manage the accounting staff who are responsible for financial reporting, billing, invoicing, collections, and cost control.
    • Perform the month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of journal entries and financial reports.
    • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure effective internal controls.
    • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reports to assist management decisions.
    • Manage Physician compensation models and calculations.
    • Manage the patient and insurance payment process for the revenue cycle.
    • Work closely with billing and collections to ensure proper procedures to collect for medical services.
    • Assist CFO with projects.
    • Act as liaison with CPA, banking, and government agencies.
    • Certain tax filings & audits as needed

    PM22 Requirements:

    The successful candidate will have sufficient systems experience, internal controls, and accounting knowledge including the areas of general accounting, journal entries, reconciliation, accounts receivable, fixed asset, consolidations, financial preparation and reporting.

    * Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.

    • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as an Accounting Manager, Manager, or Controller.
    • Medical Practice experience strongly preferred.
    • Working knowledge in healthcare services operations and billing.
    • Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
    • Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems. PI73f25ae8d58c
