    Education
    Minimum
    : Graduate from an accredited Registered Professional Nurse Program. Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.

    Preferred: Master's Degree

    Experience
    Minimum: History of progressive leadership development in an ambulatory surgery center (ASC). Required are strong management skills, a proven record of success with JCAHO/AAAHC and Medicare Certification. Moderate sedation competency within six months of hire into this position. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex, multi-entity health system. Ability to facilitate project management, work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling. Familiarity with regulatory requirements. Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication (written and oral), analytical, and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with the public in a professional and courteous manner. Computer literacy required with word processing, spreadsheets, power point .

    Preferred: Previous experience in a circulator role in both the OR and in the Endoscopy environment.

    Responsibility Summary
    The Ambulatory Surgery Manager/Site Administrator has major responsibility for the implementation of the mission, vision, plans and standards of the organization and nursing/clinical practice within this assigned area of responsibility. The manager is accountable for the environment in which clinical nursing is practiced. He/she must allocate available resources to promote efficient, effective and compassionate nursing care delivery. Emphasis on the facilitation of an atmosphere of interactive management and development of collegial relationships among surgeons, nursing and other members of the healthcare team is a must. The Nurse Manager will also engage in the following activities: Evaluates the quality and appropriateness of care; Provides guidance and supervision of personnel accountable to this position; Coordinates nursing services with the services of other healthcare disciplines; Assumes responsibility for staffing and scheduling personnel appropriate to the care requirements of patients served; and Oversees the development and implementation of performance improvement initiatives utilizing evidence based research to benchmark and support best practice standards. The manager is also responsible to oversee the coordination of facility services to include but not limited to materials management, environmental services, clinical engineering, medical waste removal, medical gas supply monitoring facilities/maintenance, telecommunications, informational services. Monitoring and enforcement of State and Federal Administrative and Clinical Regulations also expected

    General Surgery-hernia repair, biopsies, removal of cysts and skin lesions, and hemorrhoidectomy;


    Gastroenterology-colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, esophageal pH testing, sigmoidoscopy, and infusion therapy to treat Crohn's disease;


    Orthopedics-state-of-the-art diagnostic and sports-related arthroscopic techniques performed for the shoulder, knee, wrist and ankle; including anterior cruciate reconstruction and shoulder stabilization procedures. The FLSC also offers a board-certified hand specialist that has expertise in the hand, wrist, and elbow. All of our orthopedic surgeons provide fracture management and general outpatient orthopedic conditions;


    Ophthalmology-cataract removal with lens implantation and repair of the eyelid and tear duct;


    Otolaryngology-skin cancer surgery, insertion of ear tubes, tonsil and adenoidectomy, middle ear procedures, and sinus surgery;


    Podiatry-ankle arthroscopy, bunion repair, endoscopic plantar fasciotomy for heel pain, hammer toe repair, and reconstructive foot surgery;


    Urology-cystoscopy, prostate, bladder procedures, and ultrasonic stone fragmentation or lithotripsy.
