    Sodexo is Seeking a Lead Boiler Engineer to support our life-science client located in Oceanside, CA. The Lead Boiler Engineer serves as the lead engineer and is responsible for boiler operations, maintenance, renovation and repair of boiler systems and all other mechanical systems in a facility. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but Sodexo may identify other responsibilities of the position.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Subject-Matter Expert in maintenance, diagnosis and repair of designated plant, electrical and mechanical systems and equipment
    • Serves as a Lead Engineer operating and maintaining stationary engines and equipment such as steam engines, boilers, air compressors, generators, turbines, and refrigeration equipment.
    • Manages operations of critical room equipment (MDF/UPS/IDF/AV), including CRAC units, boilers, HVAC, fire systems, electrical panels, generators, programmable logic controllers (PLC), uninterruptible power systems (UPS), static switch gear, lighting controls, & building automation systems.
    • Responsible for directing day to day facilities operations
    • Leading internal teams to conduct Root Cause Analysis, developing Corrective Action solutions/plans for design gaps and performance related problems, and reporting status of implementations ·
    • Prepares asset files including equipment data sheets, impact assessments, boiler maintenance recommendations, maintenance work plans and procedures
    • Checks, inspects and monitors various types of machinery, equipment and systems such as steam distribution and condensate return systems (steam traps, condensate receivers and piping), heat control panels, heat exchangers, safety valves and gauges, low water cut-outs and/or steam pressure reducing stations
    • Coordinate repairs, overhauls and maintains machinery and equipment by replacing burners, motors, pumps and compressors
    • Records Power Plant information such as gauge readings, fuel consumed, steam generated, chemicals used and similar data
    • Manage the preventative maintenance schedule of equipment, as required, using hand and power tools
    • Verify and implement preventive maintenance standards on all central plant equipment
    • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

    Is this opportunity right for you? We are looking for candidates who have:

    • 5 years of engineering experience, boiler and chiller experience preferrable
    • 5 years of leadership experience
    • Boiler Operator's license
    • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 40 pounds
    • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)

    Qualifications & Requirements:

    Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

    Basic Management Experience – 5 years

    Basic Functional Experience - 5 years of engineering experience, with a focus in reliability or project engineering, utilities and facilities management and experience managing maintenance teams
