    Our client is seeking an experienced

    Manufacturing Engineer-Foundry

    to work in their facility located in

    Mapleton, IL . They


    are seeking someone who can provide day-to-day technical foundry operations support by leveraging processes expertise, implementing tooling development, and continuous improvements to operational safety, quality, efficiency, and cost management.

    Ideal candidates will possess

    foundry process experience related to molding, core make, melting/holding furnaces, iron pouring or casting cleaning.
    Responsibilities

    Direct operations day-to-day process support including:

    Technical support of mold line and core room processes

    Technical support of finishing and casting cleaning processes

    8Gray iron and ductile iron pouring zone process support.

    Tooling and fixture repair and process troubleshooting,


    Process documentation (Process FMEA's, Safety FMEA's, process control plans, standard work, corrosion, and packaging plans), reviewing GD&T and 3D-scan reports of cast tools.


    • Continuous process improvement projects including process-related scrap and rework reduction,
    • Support operations continuous improvement (CI cards) to achieve safety goals, capacity requirements, product cost and quality commitments.
    • The position manages the completion of its own work assignments and coordinates work with others.
    • Identify and utilize 6 sigma problem solving methodology resolving problems.

    Qualifications


    4-year college degree in an appropriate engineering or technical discipline with one year of experience, OR 5 years equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.

    Foundry process experience related to molding, core make, melting/holding furnaces, iron pouring or casting cleaning.

    Strong analytical ability coupled with excellent communications skills (verbal, written and interpersonal) are required.

    Experience with Six Sigma methodology is preferred.

    Experience with Continuous Improvement is preferred.

    Basic experience using MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel, etc.) is required.

    Experience working within a diverse work culture is a plus.
